  1. Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world.  it is also Israel's largest city.                                                          

  2. Even though it's located in a desert area, there are more than 1,500 public parks and gardens in Jerusalem.                   

  3. The Old City of Jerusalem is completed walled in.  There are eight (8) gates built into the walls, seven (7) are open and one (1) is sealed,                                                               

  4. The Old City is divided into four (4) main sections, or "quarters": Christian, Jewish, Armenian and Muslim.  It is one of the holiest (religious) cities in the world for the three (3) major religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.                                                                                            

  5. Some of the famous sites to visit while in Jerusalem are:
    - The Old City
    - Temple Mount and The Dome of the Rock
    - The Western Wall
    - The Mount of Olives
    - The Church of the Holy Sepulchre
    - Day Trip to Masada

     

  6. A path, called the Via Dolorosa, follows the journey of Jesus through the Old City of Jerusalem.  There are 14 stops on this path and they are referred to as the "14 Stations of the Cross."                  
                                         

  7. The flag of Israel has two colors on it: white and blue.
     

  8. The Dome of the Rock and Temple Mount are two of the most religious places for followers of Islam.
     

  9. The Western Wall and Temple Mount are two of the most religious places for followers of the Judaism.                                                                                       

  10. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Temple Mount are two of the most religious places for followers of Christianity.
